Abstract of workshop
The accomplished teaching standards movement defines the knowledge, practice and leadership of the teaching profession. The teacher-librarian standards of professional excellence, built on the national teaching standards, are the means by which the profession defines itself. These standards validate the professional status of teacher-librarians and describe the outstanding levels of knowledge, expertise and commitment. The standards represent the goals to which Australian teacher-librarians aspire, inform ongoing professional practice and provide a basis for continuing education. This workshop will focus on these three aspects: aspiration, professional practice and continuing professional learning.
