"On behalf of the School Library Association of
Queensland and the SLAQ 2006 Organising Committee, I would like to thank
you for your generosity and support for the SLAQ 2006 conference held at
St Patrick's Senior College 24-27 September 2006. The maintenance
of the
conference website and the development and maintenance of the
weblog were
efficiently and effectively undertaken. Your minor keynote,
Information management and emerging technologies, was well received
by delegates. The conference proved to be successful on all
levels: professional, personal, organisational and financial.
I would also like to commend you on your work with
the SLAQ 2006 organising committee. For the past two years you
have been involved in:
- strategic planning
- event management
- micromanagment of the website and weblog for
the conference
- program planning
- program support.
The conference's internet presence resulted in
delegates from other countries and all Australian states attending the
conference. Your work in sourcing possible keynote speakers was
invaluable.

"Thank you most sincerely for
giving your valuable time on 19th September to present the very
interesting session Implications for school communities in managing
the transition from library to cybrary to participants at the
seminar. It was a very informative and thought provoking session
and appreciated by everyone who attended.
Evaluative feedback from the
seminar was overwhelmingly positive. Comments ranged from:
'provided effective ways of preparing students for Uni and ultimately
lifelong learning' to 'more than met expectations and needs' to 'It was
great. Excellent presentations by excellent presenters'."

"Thank you once again for the
visionary keynote presented at our TL gathering last week. In
comments about the day, participants described your presentation as
inspirational, awesome, challenging and affirming, so take a
bow!
You certainly set the tone for
the activities that followed and for the comments that continue via the
Blackboard community established to keep the discussions of the day
alive. Many participants suggested that we call on you again to
speak in other forums and I will no doubt be contacting you about this
possibility in the near future.
I look forward to a continuing
association."

"On behalf of the Australian
School Library Association Standing Committee and Executive, I would
like to acknowledge and thank you for the outstanding effort you have
put into the ASLA Website and Teaching Information Skills CD-ROM
revision. The ASLA Website has
continued to grow and reflect the directions of our association under
your expert guidance. We sincerely express our gratitude to you
for all your time and hard work in developing the site, especially your
perseverance in the development of the Directory and Index. As the Teaching Information Skills
CD-ROM project reaches a conclusion we would also like to thank you for
your tireless effort in seeing its reprogramming completed. ASLA
has benefited from your diligence in seeing this project through to the
end, meticulously insuring all reprogramming runs smoothly. Your commitment to the association and
the personal qualities you bring to these and many other projects are
sincerely appreciated."

"Karen Bonanno has strongly supported the School Library Association of
Queensland by providing relevant and challenging professional
development for teacher librarians throughout Queensland. Karen's
background in teacher librarianship provides a vital link with
participants as she has a practical understanding of their work
environment and the changes that new technologies bring to the role of
teacher librarianship. Karen never misses attending SLAQ's
biennial conference at which she has been an active sponsor and
presenter. Her professional approach and enthusiasm have produced
successful learning experiences for those who have worked with her on
various projects with this association. Her in-depth knowledge of
the world of information literacy both nationally and internationally
has helped to keep Queensland teacher librarians up to date in this
field."
